Youth Ministry News

In the nursery room adjoining the Junior Church/Social Hall, the Youth Ministry Staff provides quality childcare for very young children.  At appropriate times, the young children join children five years and older   for songs, stories, and crafts.  The “Talking Stick” is often used to allow sharing of events of the week.  Children are invited to join the Ceremony of The Sacred Circle at the beginning of the adult service and the singing of the peace song at the end of the service.

At a recent get-together, while asking Spirit what was the highest vision for CLC Junior Church, participants received images of a room filled with children singing, expressing, coloring, and sitting at small tables.  Colors that appeared were purple and red and a black and white symbol.  They were also asked what needs to be released and embraced for this vision to happen and what they must do to make this vision happen.  God speaks to us as we listen and Spirit IS in motion.

Teachers use "Spiritual Practices for Kids" curriculum which is provided by the United Center for Spiritual Living.  Teaching children is a wonderful opportunity.   Training is available.  Call Carol Brickley at 352-9276 or Mary Lucas at 351-0175.  Children are a source of spiritual enlightenment.
